AWN statement on the occasion of International Day to End Violence Against Women and ‘16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence.

Security, awareness and enforcement of Elimination of Violence Against Women

Based on the United Nations’ statistical figures, more than seven billion people live around the world and women cover almost 50 percent of the population and each woman out of three is confronted to (a) type/s (Rape, beating) of violence.
The registered number of violence against women cases during this year reach more than 5000. Women yet don’t have access to justice; EVAW Law’s enforcement has been facing many obstacles and the judicial, security and detection have been not able to comprehensively support the victims of violence cases.

AWN once again emphasizes that violence against women itself indicates the systematic inequality and we repeatedly ask for women’s access to justice and implementation of violence against women law, which will itself gradually eradicate violence and strengthen basis of equality.
